2012 Year in Review

It’s about that time again.

These past 12 months have to contend for the most eventful of my entire adult life, at the very least. The world did not end in 2012 (to the surprise of no one with even a basic capacity for thought), but within the context of being me, many things have changed significantly and permanently this year, which is a kind of ending. My family life, my professional life, and more, have all been transformed. Some of these changes have been very good, and others have been very unwelcome. I am still here, though, and as I look ahead to the new year I confront a more terrifying and wondrous unknown future than I have for some time. What will happen: “I don’t know, it’s a mystery.”

That’s New Business, however. Before getting to that, let us survey the Old Business of the closing year.
