Great Lakewood Pub Crawl Map update!

2010 October 3

Any locals heading out to watch fellow ISU alumnus Seneca Wallace and the Cleveland Browns take on the Cincinnati Bengals this afternoon, take note: the ultimate map of Lakewood sports bars and other places to grab an adult beverage with friends is newly updated. Download the latest Great Lakewood Pub Crawl Map and acquaint yourself with all of Madison and Detroit Avenues’ options for a celebratory (or, if you’re watching the Browns, perhaps a sorrow-drowning) beer or two. (Update: wow!)

I’ve been planning this update for months, now, watching and waiting for a couple of establishments in the pre-opening stages to finally begin welcoming customers. With the ribbon-cutting at Deagan’s Kitchen and Bar, the time has finally arrived for this udpate.

Most of the ferment (as it were) seems confined to Detroit Avenue, of late, which has seen a variety of comings and goings:

  • 15625 Detroit continues to keep us guessing, as Niko’s now shares space with something called Apothecary, while also keeping one remaining Route 6 CafĂ© sign on the side of the building.
  • Speaking of possible sources of confusion, Lakewood now has an Eddy & Iggy’s on Detroit to go with Iggy’s on Madison. That’s why you need the Great Lakewood Pub Crawl Map. Can’t tell the players without a program!
  • The popularity of Irish elements among Lakewood’s drinks vendors remains high, with Irish Kevin’s taking the place of Casey’s, and the above-mentioned Eddy & Iggy’s sporting a shamrock graphic above its door.
  • Pancakes and OJ are out, tortillas and margaritas are in as the former IHOP gets a new tenant in the form of Cozumel.
  • Unlike whatever that place by the bank used to be, its just-opened replacement Deagan’s Kitchen and Bar has decided to put up some exterior signage, which will hopefully prove a useful innovation.

As always, the Great Lakewood Pub Crawl Map is provided free of charge and free of any warranty, etc. See the original announcement for additional disclaimers, and feel free to contact me with any updates or corrections.
